Atelier with Angele Working closely with our French agency, FLAG, we organized two workshops with French chef Angele Ferreux-Maeght. In attendance were consumer journalists and food influencers interested in understanding the versatility and nutritional benefits of sweetpotatoes. With Angele’s guidance, attendees had the opportunity to cook up two original recipes, sweetpotato scones, and sweetpotato baba ganoush. Through this partnership with FLAG, we continue to learn about the appetite of the French media for informative yet interactive events like the atelier. The engagement from attendees reinforced the need to educate consumers about the versatility of sweetpotatoes, as attendees were amazed by the dishes Angele was creating.
Questions centered around shipping quantities and the ability to source North Carolina sweetpotatoes. By educating attendees on the percentage of US sweetpotatoes from North Carolina and how to identify them in the market, they could understand how to differentiate our sweetpotatoes in the supermarket, reinforcing the need for this key message to continue to be in all marketing activity moving forward.
